A Real Lappish Village
Kierinki Village is a small, family-run tourism business in the heart of Finnish Lapland. Our story began in 2011 with a simple idea: to offer visitors a welcoming place to stay and experience Lapland as part of a real, living village.
Over the years, we have developed accommodation, restaurant and café services, a village shop, a caravan area and experiences, all within the village of Kierinki.
Our approach is rooted in the Finnish idea of Kotoisa Lapinkylä: a welcoming Lapland village where guests can feel at home.
Our Story
Built Around a Living Lapland Village
What makes Kierinki different is the village itself.
Kierinki has developed over centuries and has retained its traditional rural character. Today, it is recognised as part of a nationally significant cultural landscape.
When renovating our accommodation and restaurant buildings, we have aimed to respect their original character and history while creating comfortable spaces for today’s guests.
We want Kierinki Village to feel genuine rather than manufactured, a place where visitors can experience local life, nature and hospitality away from the busiest tourist resorts.
The Village of Kierinki
Surrounded by Nature, Connected to Lapland
Kierinki is a small village surrounded by the forests and wilderness of Central Lapland. Its history reaches back centuries, long before tourism arrived in the region.
The village has survived periods of profound change, including the Second World War, while maintaining its identity as a living rural community.
Today, visitors come here for the same qualities that have always defined Kierinki: space, silence, nature and a strong sense of place.
Our Way of Doing Things
Local, Personal and Genuine
We believe that the most memorable Lapland experiences do not have to be complicated.
Good food made with local ingredients. A comfortable place to stay. A warm welcome. A quiet evening under the northern sky. Stories around a fire. And the freedom to experience nature without the crowds.
Our experiences are built around the landscapes and traditions of the area. Depending on the season, we can arrange activities such as snowmobiling, snowshoeing, reindeer and husky experiences and Northern Lights excursions.
And sometimes, the best experience requires no programme at all. On a clear winter night, you may see the Northern Lights simply by stepping outside.
Our Promise
Feel at Home in Lapland
We hope our guests remember Kierinki not only for the landscape, but for how it felt to be here.
Our goal is simple: friendly service, good local food, comfortable accommodation and authentic Lapland experiences in a village we are proud to call home.
